Justin Matheson
Game-Based Learning Expert & Consultant
About Justin Matheson
Justin Matheson is the founder of Rift Education, a Saskatchewan-based consultancy that uses commercial video games and play to build real workplace skills like communication, collaboration, and decision-making under pressure. He holds a Master’s in Educational Technology from the University of Saskatchewan, and he founded the SPARK Lab at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, a game-based learning lab that grew from an 8-student pilot to more than 300 students across seven programs. His Rift Method gives trainers and educators a practical framework for matching game mechanics to the skills their people actually need. Justin has spoken at I4PL in Toronto, EduTech in Texas, and as a keynote speaker at the Missouri Scholastic Esports Federation conference, and his sessions are known for putting the audience in the game rather than just talking about it.
